Detectors
Nextech sells a varied range of advanced spark detectors, so we can design an optimal spark extinguishing solution for any type of production plant.
We offer the following spark detectors:
Spark detection in dark environments
GreCon’s FM 1/8 spark detector is used in dark environments where there is no penetrating light. This ensures the high sensitivity of the FM 1/8 sensors, providing optimal detection of ignition sources even in dense material flows. The sensor optics are highly resistant to material build-up, but can also be supplied with pneumatic air cleaning for particularly demanding applications.
Spark detection at high temperatures
FM 3/8 sensors with fibre optic cables are used in areas where processing or drying temperatures exceed 65°C. Three separate glass fibre cables surrounded by stainless steel transmit the infrared radiation to the sensor. Each cable terminates in a photo-optical diode and, at extremely high temperatures, pure glass adapters are fitted to the cable ends. Reliable detection is achieved by using three detection elements per sensor.
The fibre optic cables are available in different lengths for different pipe diameters.
Spark detection under daylight-like conditions
GreCon’s DLD 1/8 sensor is used for detecting sparks and smouldering embers in bright environments. The sensor can detect sparks from conveyor belts, on production lines or at transitions between transport systems. Sensor performance is not affected by daylight or artificial lighting.
Detection of hot particles and smouldering embers
Industrial production processes often create hot material or accumulations that pose an ignition risk without visibly smouldering. This can be, for example, coal or soot deposits in pipes or large amounts of dust from crushing processes. These can occur in areas such as exhaust ducts at curing facilities or foundries and at recycling plants. In such areas, GreCon’s HPD 1/8 detector is used, a detector specially designed for capturing potential ignition hazards at these low temperatures, where the materials do not visibly smoulder.
Detection of smouldering embers and other fires (combustion gas detection)
Burning embers deep inside a material release combustion gas. This gas can be detected – for example inside a silo– using GreCon’s combustion gas detector BGM.
The combustion gas detector can be used as a stand-alone unit or in combination with other units for monitoring larger areas.
The detector captures the gases released by the smouldering fire and must therefore be installed in a place where the gases accumulate. This allows the gases to be detected before they ignite, effectively preventing serious fires.
Spark detection under all conceivable conditions
GreCon’s latest DLD 1/9 sensor is an extremely sensitive detector for the detection of sparks and hot particles. Insensitive to daylight and artificial light. Excellent detection performance for all ignition sources in any environment thanks to adaptive detection technology.
