Systems

Nextech offers foam-based fire extinguishing systems for a wide range of facilities in which the use of foam provides optimal safety. Naturally, we can also offer tailored fire extinguishing solutions for other industries.

Fire protection of aircraft hangars

For fire protection of hangars and aircraft workshops at airports, foam systems are used to cover leaking aviation fuel.

Traditional foam systems with sprinklers and foam fire monitors are typically used in these installations, but we also offer advanced systems with rotating sprinkler nozzles that can be raised from the floor and spread a layer of foam under the planes.

Nextech can thus supply the following components for fire protection of aircraft hangars:

  • Foam proportioning systems
  • Remote-controlled foam fire monitors
  • Pop-up sprinklers
  • High expansion foam generators

InnoVfoam’s systems are used for example by Air Berlin Düsseldorf, KLM Amsterdam, Air Berlin BBI Berlin and Lufthansa BBI Berlin.

Fire protection of helipads and helidecks

Nextech offers specially developed systems aimed at preventing fire at hospital helipads. These systems consist of either remote-controlled foam fire monitors or circular foam tubes with flexible nozzles.

InnoVfoam systems are installed in hospitals in Vienna, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Freiburg and Ljubljana, for example.

Sports and conference centres

InnoVfoam has developed a special automatic fire protection system for use in tall buildings where conventional sprinkler systems do not provide sufficient safety. This is particularly relevant in premises with high ceilings in which events with large audiences take place.

The electric foam fire monitors are activated by infrared cameras and automatically pointed at the ignition site, and extinguishing with foam types that do not pose a danger to humans is initiated immediately.

This system is used, for example, in the “Omnisport” sports centre in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, where InnoVfoam has supplied a tailored safety system with infrared cameras and automatic foam fire monitors.

Stocks of dangerous substances

Warehouses in which hazardous substances are stored (also called PGS-15 warehouses) are often equipped with foam extinguishing systems, either with foam sprinklers or with high expansion foam systems. Nextech can supply all the necessary components for such systems.

High expansion foam systems, which use the ambient air supply for foam formation, are particularly used in these contexts, as they provide fast and efficient extinguishing combined with relatively low water consumption.

Offshore

Helidecks on drilling platforms play a crucial role in the site’s evacuation plan, which is why effective and reliable fire protection is required. InnoVfoam’s products include fire protection technology that can be used to secure and maintain helipads and helidecks in compliance with CAP and ICAO regulations.

InnoVfoam’s systems are used by companies such as Gaz de France, Total, Petro Canada and Wintershall.

Oil and gas sector

Storing flammable liquids in tanks, moving them from ships to tankers or railway wagons, further transport and processing – all of these involve a high risk of fire and explosion. Experience has shown that foam-based fire extinguishing systems are highly effective in fighting this type of fire.

Nextech offers a wide range of components to provide optimum fire safety in every stage of oil and gas transportation, storage and processing.

InnoVfoam’s fire protection systems are used by companies such as Shell, Exxon, BP and AS Termoil.

Shipping

Foam-based fire extinguishing equipment is considered the best solution for fire protection of offshore tugs and rescue boats.

InnoVfoam’s products are used, for example, by the Royal Dutch Lifeguard Association, which has specially-developed fire extinguishing systems for extinguishing fires in e.g. engine compartments.

InnoVfoam’s foam fire monitors comply with the FiFi classification.

Waste incineration

The pits in waste incineration facilities where waste (including tyres and plastics) is stored are subject to particularly high fire hazards due to factors such as spontaneous ignition. It is therefore essential to stop a fire as soon as it starts. Optimal safety is thus achieved through automatic fire detection and extinguishing, and subsequent protection against reignition.

Nextech offers foam-based fire protection technology tailored for just this purpose.

Sprinkler technology

Nextech offers foam proportioning systems and foam fire monitors using high expansion foam (HiEx) for systems in which production equipment and other hazardous areas need to be protected with sprinkler technology.

InnoVfoam works closely with a number of leading sprinkler manufacturers, who use the company’s foam proportioning systems etc. together with their own products in the development of advanced, efficient and reliable sprinkler technology.
